Our Satellite teams are for swimmers who have swim lesson experience, and want to start swimming on a beginning swim team. Swimmers will progress in their knowledge of each stroke, while also building endurance and developing race skills. Each practice will have 10-15 minutes of dryland, 45 minutes of water time with skills and drills work, as well as race games.

Pre-Requisite: Tryouts are required for swimmers new to the MVN Satellite teams. Your swimmer will be tested on one lap of freestyle and one lap of backstroke - continuous, without assistance and without touching the bottom of the pool. Water safety and comfort is a requirement, along with being secure in a group environment.

If your swimmer is currently enrolled in swim lessons with our Swim School, speak with your child's instructor about their readiness for the program. If your swimmer is not currently enrolled in Swim School and would like to join the MVN Satellite teams, and has NOT swum in the program in previous years, they WILL require a tryout. Please notate in the registration process that your swimmer requires a tryout. If your swimmer does not pass, they can enroll for private lessons or swim lessons through the Swim School.

Gear: A team suit, swim cap, and shirt is included with registration for all swimmers.

If you are unable to try your suit on these days, please order according to this website: https://www.tyr.com/sizing . Ordered suits will be delivered on a later date. To exchange a suit after this date, please bring your unworn suit with attached tags and bag to the swim school. Exchanges will be limited to availability.

Satellite teams also require additional gear that is not provided in registration: a pair of swim fins, kick board and goggles. A mesh bag to contain everything is HIGHLY recommended. The MVPro Shop will have everything you need for additional gear.
